The purpose of this study is to evaluate patient satisfaction and quality of life as it relates to skin cancer surgery. This research study involves taking a one-time survey online.

Primary Outcome Measures :
  1. number of patients satisfied with facial appearance [ Time Frame: 1 year ]
    Satisfaction with Facial Appearance Scale, Appearance-related Psychosocial Distress Scale and Adverse Effects Checklist using the FACE-Q Skin Cancer instrument.

  2. number of patients satisfied with scar outcome [ Time Frame: 1year ]
    Appraisal of Scars Scale, Appearance-related Psychosocial Distress Scale and Adverse Effects Checklist using the FACE-Q Skin Cancer instrument.

Study Population
Patients at MSKCC who underwent surgery for the treatment of a cutaneous malignancy on the face during the last 2 years.
Criteria

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Patients ≥ 21 years of age at the time of surgery.
  • Had a diagnosis of cutaneous malignancy on the face and underwent surgery at MSKCC from March 2016-March 2018.

    • Cutaneous malignancy includes, but is not limited to basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and melanoma
    • The face is defined as location in the following areas: forehead, temple, eyebrow, eyelids, cheek, nose, lips, chin, and ears.
  • Able to speak and read English

Exclusion Criteria:

  • Unable to speak and read English
