Purpose

The purpose of this study is to compare a three-session Spanish version of Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET) to standard treatment to see how well MET engages and retains Spanish-speaking clients in outpatient substance abuse treatment.

Primary Outcome Measures:

Treatment retention, drug and alcohol abstinence

Estimated Enrollment:	463
Study Start Date:	November 2003
Study Completion Date:	October 2005
Primary Completion Date:	October 2005 (Final data collection date for primary outcome measure)

Ages Eligible for Study:	18 Years and older
Genders Eligible for Study:	Both
