  Purpose

The purpose of this study is to testify the effectiveness of acupuncture for Peripheral Facial Paralysis according to different stages .

  • House-brackmann scale (Global Score,Regional Score) [ Time Frame: a week ] [ Designated as safety issue: No ]

  • WHOQOL—BREF scale [ Time Frame: two week ] [ Designated as safety issue: No ]
  • facial paralysis degree score scale [ Time Frame: a week ] [ Designated as safety issue: No ]
  • Facial Disability Index [ Time Frame: a week ] [ Designated as safety issue: No ]
  • Electrophysiology inspection [ Time Frame: a month ] [ Designated as safety issue: No ]

Detailed Description:

The purpose of this study is both to testify the efficacy of acupuncture for Peripheral Facial Paralysis according to different stages and to find out the best effective method for this disease.

  Eligibility
Ages Eligible for Study:   15 Years to 70 Years
Genders Eligible for Study:   Both
Accepts Healthy Volunteers:   Yes

Criteria

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Meeting the standards of diagnosis, positioning and staging about this disease
  • One side facial paralysis
  • Aging from 15 to 70 years old
  • The first time catch this disease
  • Signing informed consent form

Exclusion Criteria:

  • Peripheral Facial Paralysis secondary other disease
  • Accompany those disease that serious liver problem, serious spleen problem, serious heart problem
  • Hunter's syndrome
  • Hemifacial spasm
  • Pregnant women or breastfeeding women
  • People who are under other clinical research
